I think Anakin turns to the Dark side because Palpatine shows him respect and doesn't treat him as just another headstrong Padowan. Plus, I think he just got called "Ani" one to many times...maybe he just finally snapped...

Anakin went to go to dark side because of his mother and in episode 2 "Revenge Of The Sith"
he will get in the lava and all the droids are creating Darth Vader Of them..
Then Sidious says "Lord Vader"
And Darth Vader says "Yes Master!"..
When Anakin is fighting in the lava wif obiwan he says loud I HATE YOU OBIWAN!!

Anakin never stopped thinking of his mom. He knew his power is great and was angry cuz he was treated like an ordinary Jedi and the they refused to make him a master. Since the emperor was the only one to hail his powers and was telling him what he needed to hear there was only one path...

Love ended up being the major reason. He loved his mother and he loved Padme. While he told Padme that Jedi are encouragaed to love, that was not true. Jedi are supposed to be emotionless. If you get too far into one emotion like love, it can lead to the other extreme: hate. Jedi aren't supposed to have any possesions or attachments. They all leave their families behind, and they do it as young children. Anakin started a little later than most padawans, and he held a strong attachment to his mother.

After many years apart they met again and their friendship grew into love when Anakin was chosen to protect her after an assassination attempt in which they had to go into seclusion together...once faced with their own mortality the pair decided to secretly marry. Finally Anakin secumbs to the darkside after he is plaqued with terible dreams that cause him to fear losing Padme' who is now pregnant with their children...He goes to Chancellor Palpatine and puts his trust in him. Unfortunately, he sould have gone to Obi-Wan because we soon discover Palpatine is actually Lord Sidious... the puppetmaster of all! Lillith

He turn to the Darkside because of love, he love Padme so much that he will do anything for her. Anakin have a dream of Padme during childbirth and saw her die during childbirth he woke up and keep thinking about it. Padme woke up and ask him wad trouble him and he say he dream abour her dying in childbirth and say that it will not come through. Anakin seek couselling frm Master Yoda and say that Fear is the path to the Darkside. Chancellor Palpatine call Anakin and tell him they way of the force to the Darkside and saying that the Darkside can keep people from dying. Anakin though about it and decided to join the Sith. And reborn a new Sith Lord call Darth Vader.

Well.. since this question has been answered so well and so thoroughly... I have to add my smart-alecky two-cents and say that: If Anakin hadn't turned to the Dark side, there would have been no Movies IV, V and VI....
