No, I think they just get in the way of the drivers mainly. They're better off on the sidewalk because bikes are in the same catergory as walking.

Actually no... bikes officially classify as a vehicle and are *supposed* to be on the road, by law. In Canada, anyway. I've tried telling Hubby that, but he gets irritated anyway.

If a guy on a bike can't keep up with the posted speed limit of a road, he shouldn't be on the road. All they do is slow down a whole lane of traffic that's afraid of hitting him. Some cities (Detroit for one, I believe) have special bike lanes. I'm referring to the cyclists (why is that you call a guy on a bike a cyclist and a guy on a motorcycle a biker?) as "guys" because it seems they're always skinny-assed guys with ponytails or shaved heads (no middle ground) riding bicycles in traffic.

There's way too much traffic on the road to have to worry about bicycles. Bicyclers who don't obey the rules of the road should stay home.
