Finally watched my "Troy" DVD tonight. They could easily have cut about a half hour from this movie and it would have been much better. Brad Pitt and Eric Bana were both great in this film, Pitt especially. Orlando Bloom and the girl that played Helen just slowed the movie down though. Peter O'Toole has had so much plastic surgery he has a look of perpetual shock on his face now and was almost unrecognizable. Now he just looks like a guy that looks like Peter O'Toole. Anyway, the action scenes were good, but not as impressive as "Braveheart", "Gladiator", "The Patriot" or any of the "Lord of the Rings" films. The CGI ships looked really fake too. Plus, not one actor in the whole film looked Greek to me.

D- or 5/10

It's odd....the last two movies I've watched had the same kid actor in them, and they both featured the song "Raindrops keep fallin' on my head".

In "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle", a little boy is yelling at Bernie Mac at the crosswalk, and the same kid see's Peter Parker do a backflip over a speeding car in "Spider-Man 2" and asks him how he did it.

"Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" is just kick-ass fun. 8/10.

And "Spider-Man 2" is simply the most perfectly put together comic book movie ever. The casting, the direction, the music, the pace...it's just great. 10/10

I have a feeling you guys might ostracise me for saying this, but what the hell

The last film I saw is Gothika. Just finished watching it a few minutes ago, and to be honest I'm wondering what people are taking to make them hate a perfectly good film. I found it enjoyable and well-made. Good performances all around. Ending could have been a tad better, but it was an obvious sequel-opener, so I'll forgive them for that.

I watched "The Recruit" last night. I'd seen it once before and enjoyed it. An intelligent, but fun spy movie. I give it a 8/10.

Two things struck me as funny in this movie though:
1. Colin Farrell says the line "Bond, James Bond" during a training class. Pierce Brosnan said Farrell should be the next bond recently.
2. Farrell calls another character "Sonny Crockett" after learning he was a Miami Cop. Farrell is the favorite to play Crockett in the "Miami Vice" movie.

Just watched "The Rock" again. Love that movie. Easily Michael Bay's best film ( I liked "Armageddon" too, but it had Ben Affleck in it, so it gets points off and the scenes on the asteroid were kinda cheesy). Blink and you'll miss Jim Caviezel as the pilot that inadvertantly drops the bomb too early. One question for any of you doctor types out there, how would atropene (sp?) prevent the VX gas from killing you? Wouldn't it still melt your skin and all that gruesome stuff?

I finally got to see "Collateral" tonight. Another great film from Michael Mann. The night itself is as much an actor in it as Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx. Cruise is great as Vincent (apparently a name that Mann likes, he's used it in other films), a stone cold hitman. Foxx is just as good as the unwilling accomplice to the crimes.

10/10

Just got back from "Blade Trinity". Sorry to say it, but it's the worst movie in the series. Wesley is great again, it's everyone else that's not that good.Dominic Purcell was good as John Doe, but bad as Dracula. It was just a bad idea to even have Dracula in this movie. That character is dead. Gary Oldman was good as him, but even that movie was bad. Recent history ("Dracula 2000", "Van Helsing") backs this up. Jessica Biel and Ryan Reynolds were good, but Reynolds needed to cut back on the jokes. Their crew was pathetic. A blind mother and that ugly guy from "The King of Queens". Ugh. David Goyer (the writer and first time director) must have caught that episode of "Chappelle's Show" where he said that "everything is cooler in slow motion", because he couldn't use it enough. I think I'd rather have seen that "Omega Man" version of the script, where Blade was humanity's last hope in a world overrun with vampires. This movie was watchable, but it doesn't live up to the first two.

Blade 8/10
Blade II 9/10
Blade Trinity 6/10

The last movie I saw was I Robot. I liked it, I thought it was good. It makes u wonder though if real life will actually be like that in the future. I was mostly impressed by the part where Will Smith was in the tunnel and hundreds of robots start jumping on his car. It was pretty cool.
