I had just recently watched White Noise. Pretty much your average scary movie, loud noises, panic, several unexplained murders, blah blah blah, just a nice way to blow 2 hours and see Keaton's face on the big screen again.

I just watched Be Cool last night. I went to see it at the theater, but just got around to watching the DVD. Good set of deleted scenes on it. I love it when Vince Vaughn is in the music video by mistake and how it was shown at the MTV Music Video Awards show at the end. Hilarious.

The last one I watched was "Reign of Fire". I really like this movie. Just the idea of Dragons having been real and that they killed off the dinosaurs is just a fun "what if?" type of thing. Christian Bale was good, but Matthew McConaughey was the star. His character was just too damn cool. The movie could have been better, but it was fun as it was. 7/10

I saw Million Dollar Baby and I think it's over-rated.

A lot of people play the same character in every movie... I'm more partial to actors like Stephen Root (highly understated, but extremly good actor, and very flexible) who can adapt to their roles... I only know of him in two, specifically.. but they were so well played... (O Brother Where Art Thou, and Office Space)...

He was at his best on "Newsradio".
And yes, Vince Vaughn plays the same smarmy jackass in every movie. He doesn't act, he just...shows up. It's like he liked his character from "Swingers" so much that he actually became him. Other than maybe "The Lost World", he's always the same.

I saw "Stealth" today. It was better than I had expected it to be. It wasn't the greatest, but it was fun. The last half of it was kind of a surprise because the trailer didn't show too much of the final hour. If you want to see some planes blow up stuff with cardboard acting and so-so special effects, it's right up your alley. For me, it was a good way to kill two hours on a Sunday. Plus, they showed the trailer for "Doom" before it. It doesn't look that great either, but I'm not that picky. Overall, I'd give "Stealth" a 6/10.
I've also seen "Stuck on You" and "Jeepers Creepers 2" recently. I laughed more than I thought I would at "Stuck on You" and "Jeepers Creepers 2" was probably better than the original, but still not that great. A 7 for "Stuck on You" and a 5 for "Jeepers Creepers 2".

God help me, I watched "Alien vs Predator" last night. It's been a year since I'd seen it and I guess I'd forgotten just how bad it was. The aliens went from egg to full grown drone in about three minutes, the Predator's ship was so cheap it was insulting. All black with glass and red lights. Nowhere near as cool or fitting as the one in "Predator 2". The characters were jokes, no depth, no good lines, no likablity. They were just basically chum. I hated all of them. I was rooting for the Predators and then two of the Preds die within about five minutes of showing up, killed by the same friggin Alien! Then the third Pred, our last hope, gets a face-hugger on him right after he killed a couple Aliens and made himself look like the baddest thing in the galaxy. Everything they could do wrong in the making of this movie, they did wrong. I have no idea why it ever got greenlit. Paul W.S. Anderson is the absolute worst directer in the history of Hollywood. Ever.
I'm giving this movie a 1/10 because there was a period of six consecutive seconds that was halfway decent.

I watched "Revenge of the Sith" last night after the Browns exhibition game (they won, after an hour long lightning-delay). I still view it as the best of the prequels. Ewan McGregor is still the biggest wussy in the world though. The dialogue was just as bad as I remember it being, but the effects aren't as cartoonish as in the other prequels. I'm pretty sure I rated it higher before, but I give it a 7/10 now. It connects the two trilogies but left a lot of questions unanswered and Anakin's fall was just too abrupt.
This afternoon, I watched "Predator" just because it was a rainy day here. Still great, still one of my favorites. 10/10

The last DVD I watched was "Man On Fire". This is pretty much the only Denzel Washington movie that I like. He always seems to get too preachy in his other films. But in this one, he was perfect. This is exactly the type of roll that Vin Diesel should go for. He could have been great in this movie too, it's in the same vein as his "A Man Apart". Christopher Walken was fun to watch mainly because he was just playing a normal guy, not the weird freak villain that he gets cast as way too often. Mickey Rourke was cool as a sleazy attorney. I could even stand Marc Anthony, though he looks like a sick version of Jimmy Smits, and Jimmy Smits looks sick anyway. The movie had some great quotes though. This was one of my favorite:
Lisa: What are you gonna do?
Creasy: What I do best. I'm gonna kill 'em. Anyone that was involved. Anybody who profited from it. Anybody who opens their eyes at me.
And Walken had a great one with this:
Rayburn: A man can be an artist... in anything, food, whatever. It depends on how good he is at it. Creasey's art is death. He's about to paint his masterpiece.
Tony Scott did a great job with the film. I can't think of a director who could have done better. He's highly underrated. So many directors just capture the basic stuff on film (like Rob Cohen), Scott makes you watch every inch of the screen though.
9/10. A great dramatic-action movie.
