I think it's a great film, I just saw it last night!! I don't know if it's much darker than the other Harry Potter films, since The Chamber of Secrets was pretty dark, but it certainly was a bit scary!! I think it's the most like the books, out of all the Harry Potter movies I've seen, so far; though I was really disappointed that they didn't include the part where Harry gives the money from the Tri-Wizard Turnament to Fred and George, to help them start their joke shop! Other than that, and several other minor details, such as the lack of beasts in the maze, it was a lot like the book!! The Goblet of Fire was well worth waiting in line with a bunch of muggles, to see on opening weekend!!

I know it's kind of lame, since the movie's been out for a really long time now, but I recently just saw the movie, "Fever Pitch," with Jimmy Fallon, and absolutely loved it! What a great movie! As far as romantic comedies go, this one ranks right up there with "Hitch," which I think is one of the greatest romantic comedies ever!

Thumbs up Favela Rising

Favela Rising...I first heard about this documentary last year when my friend saw it at the Tribeca film festival. It's about this Brazilian guy who used to deal drugs in his poor neighborhood ('favela' means slum area) and who started a musical revolution to keep young people away from drugs. The setup sounds a lot like "City of God" by Fernando Meirelles a few years back, so I was thinking it was going to be a ripoff. But when I saw it at a screening in South Bronx last week, I was blown away. It's depressing to see how kids exposed to violence very young and made to idealize life as a druglord but then this one Brazilian guy really stood up against that by starting this new musical movement called Afro-reggae (it's like hip-hop, rock and reggae) that really rocks. It made me realize the power of music to change people's lives and give them hope.
