Ocean's 13 Coming?

Distributor Warner Bros. and producer Jerry Weintraub already are mulling a second "Ocean's" sequel, said Dan Fellman, the studio's head of distribution.

Wouldn't that be "Ocean's 13" then? Or are they trying to avoid an unlucky number?

Ya know... some movies just shouldn't HAVE sequels... I mean, honestly... Ocean's 11 was a *remake* (granted.. a very good one...).. they didn't do a sequel to the original.. let alone two. Why must they do sequels now??

This series is unique though because the actors all take pay-cuts to be in the film just because it's so much fun for them. It's almost like the movie equivalent of an All-Star game. They basically get a paid vacation in some fun city.

The first one was kind of presented as a ragtag bunch of guys robbing Las Vegas (instead of Vegas robbing them). And Danny Ocean ends up with his girl back to boot.

The second introduced the unofficial organization of thieves, and their number one rule (never rat out another thief). It had a more intricate plot and had the good guys coming out on top again, with Rusty finally getting his girl back too.

I'd be intrigued to see what they would do with another. I like all the characters in these movies, but if they wanted to, they could drop a couple (Casey Affleck, Scott Caan, Bernie Mac) and bring in some new ones for a fresh crew. Maybe in the sequel, they wouldn't be stealing for themselves, but doing some sort of Robin Hood type thing. There are three actors that I'd like see play a villain in the next one. Either Christopher Walken, Arnold Schwarzenegger or Mel Gibson. Any of them could play a greedy rich guy well.

With slicked back hair and a big stogie, he could pull it off though. He's at his best when he uses his charisma.

On the subject of odd sequels, I once read a quote from Owen Wilson saying he'd like to make more sequels to "Shanghai Noon" with Jackie Chan but not be limited by time with them. Basically, he'd want to do an Abbot & Costello type thing with Chan and have a bunch of adventure movies during all different time periods. I'd be all for that too, as the two Shanghai movies have been a lot of fun. (the first being better though)

If its as good as Ocean's Eleven, I will be there, if it's as bad as Ocean's Twelve then I will avoid it like the plague.

Oceans 13

At the end of Oceans 12, they have the "Night Fox" give a mysterious look to Terry Benedict. This suggests they COULD make another oceans movie but not neccesarily with all the characters

I'd hope that the next one wouldn't have the "Night Fox" or Terry Benedict. It's time they robbed someone else.

This movie will be good

You know what... there are movies that are made to be singles (Sahara... even though there's the book series), some that have sequals that work (X-Men), and others that just shouldn't have sequals (The Matrix)... but the fact is, Ocean's 11 is not meant to be any one of these. These are FUN movies, the plot isn't really that important, it's how the characters interact with eachother that make it a good movie.

The remake is nothing like the origional except for the fact that they rob 3 casinos. In the remake, they get the money, and it doesn't take 3.5 hours for the whole movie, just to have them watch the loot get burned in the end. It was fantastic. The way Brad Pitt and Clooney interact with their quick conversations and the witty replies of all the other characters make it an excellent movie to watch, regardless of what they're up to. I for one can't wait for Oceans 13 (that's the released title, there's a poster for it already) and I think it'll be just as good as the other two. Anyways... that's just what I think, up to you to agree or disagree.

Cool

i think probably in ocean's 13 "night fox" is going to steal benedict's money and Benedict is going to ask Ocean to get the money back or something like that...
