I was flush with money from a 5-week teacher's aide job at Sierra Vista Jr. High in Canyon Country, California. No educator aspirations of course, but $18/hour was the only attractive part. After receiving the first paycheck, which was above $500 for what I think was about 5 and 1/2 days work, I decided to hit pricegrabber.com and find out the best price for the DVDs I wanted. I wanted every single DVD I had been waiting a very long time to get. Without money, nothing happens.
Deepdiscountdvd.com proved to be the best buy, so I ordered American Splendor, The Big Kahuna (on backorder 'till this Sunday, the 24th, and they'll probably ship it out that Monday), Remains of the Day: Special Edition, A League of Their Own: Special Edition, The Straight Story, The Goodbye Girl (1977), and Amadeus: Director's Cut. $126.11 is what it came out to. All that money spent in 4 minutes.
There's two more I want, but amazon.com will have to be the site for those: Barfly and The Emperor's New Groove: The Ultimate Groove. However, with the news of a new 2-disc "Emperor's New Groove" set in October (along with Tarzan), now comes the time to see if everything from the old 2-disc set is going to be ported over to the new one. The obvious ploy for this new 2-disc is because of Kronk's New Groove which will be out on DVD in December. But value comes first and I gotta make sure I'm gonna get the best value.
