The last three I've bought were "At Close Range", "The Longest Yard" and "Walking Tall".
"At Close Range" is one of the best movies you've probably never seen. Sean Penn plays tough, teenage slacker in Pennsylvania in 1978. He lives with his even slackier brother (real life brother Chris Penn), their mom, and their grandma (who in real life is the Penn's mother). Things seem to be alright with him though, as he's met a local girl. One day his dad, Christopher Walken drops by. He's a rumored criminal that has only made passing appearances in Penn's life. Penn wants to be like his dad, drive nice cars, flash a wad of money, eat in fancy restaruants, etc... So he wants to go into the family business and.....well that would be spoiling it. Great drama, and great acting. Made even more powerful by the fact that it's based on a true story. I've never been a fan of Madonna, but her song "Live to Tell" is great, and they work it in througout the movie as sort of it's score. Very Well done.
"The Longest Yard" is the best sports movie I've ever seen. Burt Reynolds plays an ex-pro quarterback that's fallen on hard times and gets sent to prison. The devious warden makes him play in a football game of his making, the guards vs the convicts. Burt pulls his team together from a bunch of misfits who just want a chance to hit some guards. They're making a remake of this now with Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Nelly and Burt Reynolds that has no chance of being anywhere near as good as the original. It was also remade last year in the UK as "Mean Machine" with Vinnie Jones, but as a soccer movie.
